Microsoft assumes you'll want to use your Microsoft account to log into Skype, so when you first open one of the Skype apps - either Skype Video, Messaging or Phone - you'll see your Microsoft account email address already logged in. Setting up Skype in Windows 10 is pretty easy - in fact, most of the work is done for you. The new Skype apps are also fully integrated with Windows 10's Action Center notifications. What does this mean for you, aside from the fact that you no longer need to download Skype's desktop client to video chat with your mom? Well, if you already use Skype as your primary over-the-top messaging app (you probably don't), you can now send and receive text messages from the new Messaging app on your desktop - like iMessage, but accessible over multiple platforms. The voice and video messaging service now comes preinstalled in Windows 10 across three different native apps: Skype Video, Messaging and Phone.
I don't know why Microsoft decided to remove all exit options, at least the visible or natural ones, from Skype.Microsoft has finally integrated Skype into Windows. While Microsoft is not the first company to do that, it should have added an option to close Skype to the application as it is a much requested feature by users of the communication software. It is rather interesting that Microsoft's Skype team changes the century old function of the close button. Downside to the method is that you need to sign in to Skype again if you need to use it not a problem for users who use it once or twice a year, but a problem for users who use it regularly. Just select Quit Skype from the menu to terminate the program for good. That option is only available for signed out users, apparently.
If you right-click on the Skype icon in the system tray now, however, you will notice that it has a quit Skype option. Signing out keeps Skype open and if you don't investigate further, you could come to the conclusion that it does not change anything in regards to closing Skype. You can do so with a click on the profile icon in the Skype software and there on the Sign out link.
